Unlike the soft leather you are used to seeing on luxury leather goods such as high-end purses, vegetable tanned leathers are rustic, thick and very durable. For instance, consider this leather to be the type you would find in equestrian saddles and antique leather goods. Unlike chrome tanned leathers which have toxic properties, vegetable tanned products have less of an impact on our environment, eliminating much of the pollution caused by modern tanning methods. Every vegetable tanned leather produced is unique in its own way.
